UK Prime Minister Theresa May has called a general election on 8th June - three years earlier than scheduled.

Mrs May's official reason for holding an election was to strengthen her hand in Brexit negotiations and as Britain heads to the polls on June 8 for a snap general election, the eyes of thousands of strategists, politicians and the public are on the polls. Tonight until the pub closes at midnight, you'll be watching as these events unfold.
