Discover The World’s First Garden City With Blue Badge Guide

Over a hundred years ago, a social reformer by the name of Ebenezer Howard had a vision of a planned, healthy, green new town or Garden city, built from scratch in the countryside of the Home Counties.

Sound like a fanciful dream? Not at all, as Howard’s dream came true in the form of Letchworth, which claims to be the world’s first “Garden City”.

So today we’ve asked our resident “offbeat places” Blue Badge Guide Ian Jelf to show us some of the hidden delights of a place which – quite generally – set out to change the world.
