Artistic London: National Gallery Christmas Special!

Let’s be honest, if you don’t quite know what you’re looking at, art galleries can be a bit overwhelming. Thousands of paintings and sculptures, one after another… Where to start? When to stop?

So let’s do this differently. Rather than a mission to ‘see everything’ we’ll be focusing on just a handful of selected artworks, learning a bit about the artist who made it, why they did so, the style and techniques employed, where it fits in the canon of art history, and why it might be considered a masterpiece.

After a couple of hours we’ll head to a nearby pub for a drink and a chat about what we’ve seen, what we liked and what we didn’t.
