It’s finally spring in London
5th March 2017Winter is finally officially over! The snow in North England has finally melted, Storm Doris has passed and we are now looking forward to seeing the flowers bloom and the birds sing. Spring in London is absolutely gorgeous and it’s the perfect time to explore what London’s outdoors has to offer. From the vast array of parks, outdoor sports and food festivals, it’s about time you switch off Netflix and venture into the great outdoors. Here are 10 of our favourite things to do in London during the Spring.
London Beer Week
From March 13 – 19, get yourself ready to jump into London’s best beers. The seven day festival celebrates the great, the good and the best of London’s beer scene with the city’s best bars and breweries serving up their finest ales, lagers and ciders. With beer tours, special events and immersive beer experiences, this is one festival you should not miss!
St Patrick’s Day
St Patrick’s Day is a weekend of fun, laughter and a lot of beer! If you can’t be in Ireland, celebrate St Patty’s in the capital with dance, song, food and good friends. Join Thinking Bob in the celebrations this 17th March and sip on the well-deserved Guinness.
London Coffee Festival
If beer isn’t quite your thing and coffee is your go to fix, then join in the fun at London’s Coffee Festival from the 6th – 9th April. Located at the Old Truman Brewery in the heart of London’s Brick Lane, immerse yourself in the city’s best coffee. Barista’s from all over the globe will be brewing you their famous coffees, showing you how to create your own Latte Art and brining you an immersive coffee journey. What’s not to love?
Easter in London
Easter weekend is right around the corner and it’s time to stock up on Chocolates and get your hunting skills to the ready for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. There is plenty to do in London but if you are looking for something a little more alternative, why not try out an Easter Chocolate Workshop or rediscovering the oldest Board Games with Game Plan.
The London Marathon
Cheer on this years London Marathon runners braving the 26 Miles to Buckingham Palace, all in aid for charity. It’s a great event, bringing everyone together to support charities across the UK.
Explore London’s Gardens
London is filled with gorgeous gardens, some more well known than others. Make sure you don’t miss out the springtime flowers blooming in some of London’s more beautiful gardens. Some of our favourites are Kew Gardens, Chelsea Physic Garden, The Kyoto Japanese Garden and Chiswick House Gardens. Get out there are go for a long walk on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Go boating in Hyde Park
It’s not summer weather yet, but getting out on the water in the Spring is worth every minute. Soak in the fresh breeze with a relaxing peddle through Hyde Park. Hire yourself and your close friends a rowing boat or pedalo.
London Games Festival
Come along on the 30th March – 6th April to the London Games Festival, showcasing the best the city has to offer and promoting games and interactive entertainment. With 50,000 attendees, it’s a festival you wouldn’t want to miss out on, especially with the BAFTA Games Awards taking place. There will be interactive entertainment, exclusive eSports tournament, outdoor activity for consumers alongside all the talks, performances and parties.
Thames Boat Trip
Hop on and explore London city like you’ve never seen it before. The perfect way to spend an afternoon or an evening with friends and loved ones, while dining, drinking and relaxing on one of the Thames Boats. Watch the sunset over the cityscape with a glass of wine and good company.
London’s City Farms
If farms are more your thing, there are plenty city farms in London anyone can explore. Visit the animals and walk around the gardens this spring. If you are searching for a city farm there is Spitalfields City Farm, Hackney City Farm and Kentish Town City Farm – so you are not far off from a day with your favourite farm animals.
