  • Home concert: Queen Live Aid

    February 22, 2021
    Live Aid was a benefit concert held on Saturday 13 July 1985, as well as an ongoing music-based fundraising initiative. The original event was organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for relief of the Ethiopian famine. Billed as the “global jukebox”, the event was held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London, UK, attended by about 72,000 people.

    London based Soul/Funk Collective hosts London’s most prestigious funk night, W3 Sessions at Ronnie Scotts bar, featuring musicians who have toured with the likes of Incognito, Brand New Heavies, Rizzle Kicks, Gary Barlow, Olly Murs, LuLu, Jessie J, Wretch 32 and more. The night will be run by Saxophonist Ed Mitchell, and features a collective of musicians who have performed and toured with each other for over a decade.

  • THE BEATLES’ ABBEY ROAD 50TH ANNIVERSARY

    In 2016 & 2017, The Midnight Special performed 4 sold out Jazz Café shows celebrating the 50th anniversaries of both ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ and ‘The White Album’. At each of the performances, the band faithfully reproduced the albums, in full, note for note, accompanied by a full string section.

    The Midnight Special return to The Jazz Cafe for two more shows, this time performing The Beatles’ final masterpiece, ‘Abbey Road’. Once again, the band will be playing the album in full, with another rendition happening the following night.

    Once the album has been played in full, the band will return to the stage for a second set of Beatles greatest hits.
