5 reasons why Autumn in London is the best

16th October 2016

It’s that time of year again where we ditch the flip-flops, hang up our Hawaiian shirts and say hello to our long lost jumpers. This summer has been packed filled with picnics and mojitos, but it’s time to settle into the new season and sit back, relax and let the leaves fall as they may.

Autumn in London is unmissable, it’s that perfect time for you to rest and recover from your busy summers and prepare for the long winter ahead, winter is coming after all. Here is why us Bobbers love London in the Autumn and why you should too.

The sound of stepping on fallen leaves

If you happen to know anyone that says they don’t like this sound, they are lying. It’s almost on par with popping bubble wrap. When the leaves start to fall and London looks like postcard, get outside and do your best jumping. You are spoilt for choice here so if you are looking for a great view, head on over to Primrose Hill, for the deer, stroll through Richmond Park and for a more romantic setting, find the hidden Hampstead Hill Garden and Pergola.

Get a culture overload

Take this opportunity to get yourself back on the culture wagon by exploring what amazing things London has to offer. It’s too cold for picnics in the park and not cold enough to stay in, so why not try something different? Check out all the amazing flea markets London has, including Bermondsey’s Antique Market.

Oktoberfest in London

Autumn isn’t all about relaxing, it’s also about beer. So much beer. Brace yourself for two weeks of Hendl, lederhosen and of course authentic German beer. Did you know that in the beginning, there was actually no beer? It kicked off to celebrate the wedding of the King of Bavaria, Ludwig von Bayern to princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. We’re full of fun, pointless facts…

Spook yourself silly

Possibly one of the best things about Autumn is Halloween. Whether it’s a marathon movie night or going all out with your best costumes, it’s one to look forward to. This year we have an Invasion Of The Bobber Snatchers, where all BOBBERS BEWARE as you are likely to be snatched away. This Halloween, we believe they are coming to get us and we need to stick together to save our city, and ourselves.

Get warm and cosy on Bonfire Night

It’s that time of year again we all love. Wrapped up in our favourite scarf, clutching a hot chocolate and watching the fireworks. Watch London’s sky light up this Bonfire night and this year you really are spoilt for choice. Check out Alexandra Palace and their spectacular Fireworks Festival or go central and take it to the London Eye for some pretty sweet displays.
